Answering Common Questions About Google Grants
Q: How do we determine if we are eligible for a Google Grant? A: Be sure you have current 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, and that your tax status and EIN (Employer Identification Number) are in the IRS online database. Q: How do we apply? A: The application is online here: https://google-for-nonprofits.appspot.com/application Q: How long does it take to find out if we are approved? A: It takes 4-8 weeks to get approved. UPDATE: Incredibly, I have been hearing back from clients that approvals are happening as quickly as 2 days after they apply. Good luck! Q: How long does the Google Grant last? A: You will have the Google Grant indefinitely, as long as you're actively using and accessing your Grant. Google has now implemented an annual renewal policy. See details here: http://npg-vermont.blogspot.com/2013/06/google-grants-renewal-policy-starts-in.html Q: Why does Google do this for nonprofits? A: The Google Grants program started in 2003 as an effort to help nonprofits, as part of Google's social responsibility efforts.
